Not a new car - I mean literally, I got a new set of wheels today. These are going to look great on my World Rally Blue BRZ. As you might be able to see, the tread is gone on this particular tire. Typical autocross wear on a camber challenged car (another BRZ). What I assume to be the rears are still in OK shape, so I can probably get away with replacing the two worst for now and getting the others later to spread out the hit to my wallet.

I'm looking forward to getting some tires on the BRZ that actually have some GRIP! The stock Prius tires were almost as bad as the snows I have on now. Then I can actually do some autocrosses this year. It wasn't even worth trying on the Prius tires - they were seriously holding the car and me back.

Is it spring yet?

UPDATE: Dang. I'm looking on Tire Rack. Just two Dunlop SP Sport 01s will cost me almost $500. For a few dollars more, I can snag four of the top rated Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I guess maybe I'll replace all four tires after all.

Those are going to really compliment that blue! Love that color combo.

They'll look a whole lot better than my dipped OEM wheels! I mean, they're not bad, but these are better.

I thought the purpose of the prii tires was to keep costs down and hoon levels high.

Make sure to give us lots of pictures once you get tires and all that good stuff!

It's definitely easy to hoon on the Prius tires, no question. And yeah, that's fun, but it's not fast. I'd rather give it more grip to take better advantage of the car's capabilities than drive it sideways.

But that's just me.

those look great! OZ Ultralegerras?

I'm thinking about getting these for my Genesis as soon as I can put my summer tires back on.

Are you going wider than the stock tires?

Oh yes. The tires on there now are 235/45/17, vs. 215/45/17 stock. A 245/40/17 is also available, and is a closer match to overall stock size, but they're almost $100 more for an extra 10mm, so I'll probably stick with 235.

Those OZ's are gonna look SWEET! Definitely spring for the full set of tires, though... Might as well drift the crap out of the current ones! ;)
